It isn't easy, just worth it

Justine, seventeen, loving others is my calling, following Jesus is my purpose.
I may say things you don't agree with, but this is my blog. :) First amendment rights, peeps.

I just don’t understand.. like, seriously?

I understand that we haven’t been friends with you as long as they have, but you spent almost every school day with us since we were in eighth grade.
Yes, you don’t see those friends as often, I get that too.

But that doesn’t give you an excuse to be a jerk.
You can’t blow people off like that, I mean, you can, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should. I hope someday you’ll realize how much that hurt us, maybe when we all get together, you’ll show up too.. Maybe.

I hope you realize how valuable you are to our group. Sometimes you’re the glue that holds us together when we’re all a little bit more than irritated with each other. Has anybody told you that? They probably haven’t, but you are. You talk us out of being annoyed and keep us a little bit sane.

Maybe we need to tell you that you are appreciated?
Do you not feel appreciated?
Do you feel like.. we take you for granted?
If so, I do apologize.. like apologizing on a blog site that you don’t read is going to do us any good.. but I sincerely apologize.

We’re your friends too, you know?

We try to understand what you’re going through and try to get you to talk about your problems with us. That lack of communication is your fault, sweetheart.

Don’t be like this.

seem like the kind of person who would vandalize her high school?
Really?

I know I’m not the easiest kid ever, but thank you.
Thank you for giving me a chance at this beautiful life, Momma.
Thank you for encouraging me to follow my dreams.
Thank you for shaping me to be independent, and how to stand on my own.
Thank you for holding me when I cry over boys, friends, and school.
Just… thank you.

And thank you, Aunt Lori.
Thank you for stepping in, thank you for being a role model for me.
Thank you for being my number one fan all of these years.
Thank you for opening up your home to me, always.
Thank you for the homemade cookies and treats, and giving me a best friend.

These two women mean so much to me.
I wouldn’t be the girl I am today without either of them.

I love you both, thank you for raising me.

Spread the love, you say?

Yes, I do believe that gay marriage is, in fact, wrong.
BUT that doesn’t mean I hate those who are homosexual, in anyway.
I just don’t like their sin.

I love because HE first loved me.
God loves everyone, not just those who aren’t homosexual.
He just doesn’t like what they’re doing.

We’re sinning, and God doesn’t like it when we sin.

“We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God, yet hates his brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God, must also love their brother or sister.” 1 John 4:19-21

I didn’t write this post to stir up any kind of political trouble, or to offend you in anyway. But seriously, don’t hate others. It’s not in God’s plan for you to do so.

LOVE the sinner, dislike their sin. :)

I really wish you were eight hours away right now.
Someone told me today that she looks like me. I’m kinda freaked out..
You’re not supposed to get to me like this anymore.
You were my first love, so I get you still being in my heart.
But sometimes, it’s just easier not to see you.

I know it’s in Your plan, but.. haven’t I had enough heartache?
It seems like every school year something bad has happened.
Can’t you leave them here? They’re my family.

 I can’t handle them leaving, I can’t.
